Let’s Setup Your Profile:

Profile Picture:

Color Scheme: Utilize a gradient color scheme.

Headshot: High-quality picture of your face (don’t use selfies).

Personal Examples: I used a headshot from my lower neck to the top of my head. Keep some space between all sides of your face to allow room for the gradient color scheme. I chose a beautiful purple and blue color scheme. I’m now recognized as the top creator with this color scheme.

Templates: I created a profile picture template you can edit in both Photoshop or Canva. Simply the image of your choice and change the color scheme to the one of your choosing.

Profile Banner:

Color Scheme: Utilize the same gradient color scheme you used for your profile picture.

Copy: Use a 1-liner that explains what you do and the outcome it produces.

CTA: Add a simple call-to-action to get your prospects to take action.

Personal Examples: I chose the simplistic/minimalistic approach for my banner. I’d highly recommend you do the same. The easier it is to read, the easier it is for your prospects to take action.

I am using the same blue and purple gradient that I chose on my profile picture.

For the copy, I am using social proof to showcase I’m an expert in my field: “Join 28,776+ Creators”.

For my 1-liner, I’m expressing an outcome my prospects can achieve if they join “The Growth Innovator”: “If you want to create content that boosts your sales and makes you money…”

For the CTA, I’m using a simple button style design to get my prospects to my landing page: “Click the link below to join”.

In the top left of my banner, I use another simple CTA to get my prospects to my featured section: “Check out my Featured section”.

The more straightforward your banner is, the better it will convert your viewers to followers, and followers to customers.

Templates: I created a profile banner template you can edit in both Photoshop or Canva. Simply change the copy, social proof, and color scheme of your choosing.

Profile Headline (Bio):

Copy: Use a 1-liner that explains what your audience can expect from your content.

Important: Don’t use excess emojis, hashtags, “|” copy, or words like “Expert”. All very unnecessary and won’t get people to earn your trust. Don’t be sloppy.

Personal Examples: I chose to go the simple route of what my audience can expect if they follow me on 𝕏.

Here’s what that looks like: “Follow for Daily Insights on Creating Content that Sells | Join 28,776+ Receiving My Exclusive Content”

image

ChatGPT Script: Feel free to use my ChatGPT script to create your own profile headline.

Simply fill in the information in the script, and you’ll have your own in seconds:

Here is my Twitter profile headline: "Follow for Daily Insights on Creating Content that Sells" Here is the template I need you to follow: Follow for Daily Insights on [Outcome of Posted Content] Every day, I post content that [What Your Content Does (Outcome)] My target audience is [Your Target Audience]. Please write a 1-liner using the same template provided above.

Link in Bio + Call to Action:

Copy: Use a 1-liner that gets your audience curious on what you have for them.

Length: Keep it less than 28 characters.

Personal Examples: 80% of my revenue comes directly from sending 2x emails per week. So, the main goal of my profile is to capture emails from my prospects.

Here’s what my link in bio looks like: “Get My FREE 5-Day Course ➡️”

Few things to note:

  1. It’s free.
  2. It’s a course.
  3. It’s valuable to my audience.

I’d highly recommend the following:

  • Capture Emails
  • Offer Free Digital Products

My favorite way to capture emails is through a lead magnet. When your prospect grabs your lead magnet, they are automatically enrolled for your newsletter (exclusive content is what I call mine). I use Beehiiv for this.

In the Newsletter Module, I dive deep into how to set up your landing page, capture emails on your website, and how to properly set up a free lead magnet.

Here’s the flow of my profile funnel:

  1. User clicks on my profile.
  2. User enjoys what they see.
  3. User checks out the link in my bio.
  4. User is compelled by my landing-page.
  5. User provides email to join email list.
  6. User receives emails from me.
  7. User found an email intriguing.
  8. User clicks on link in my email.
  9. User is now on my product page.
  10. User is now a paying customer.

This is exactly why your profile is so important. It should flow without any confusion.

ChatGPT Script: Feel free to use my ChatGPT script to create your own CTA.

Simply fill in the information in the script, and you’ll have your own in seconds:

Here is my Twitter link in bio: "Get My FREE 5-Day Email Course"

Please create 10 CTAs (call to actions) that get my prospects curious to click on what I have to offer. The content I provide within my CTA is [Your Lead Magnet Outcome + Content].

The CTA should be less than 28 characters.

Please use the same formatting and word choice as the reference example I provided.

Profile Pinned Post:

Many creators don’t talk about their “pinned” posts. But, It’s one of the most important parts of your 𝕏 account. It’s the post that people see when they first go to your page. First impressions go a long way in the creator economy.

So, what’s the best way to leverage this?

I change mine all the time based on what I want my audience to see.

Currently, I have a social proof post of my results on LinkedIn. The post showcases exactly what my analytics were for my business in the last 80 days. This is perfect for my prospects that aren’t certain if they should take action. This is what it looks like:

The analytics are very specific.

This is direct advertising for my paid offers as it displays powerful social proof. A lot of people talk down on LinkedIn as well, which means this shows otherwise. Pin a post that you want your audience to see or something they should know about you.

Here are a few posts I’ve pinned in the past:

  • Well performing threads that I posted
  • Upcoming product launches
  • Video content
  • Link to newsletter
  • Information about me
  • Well performing post that resonated w/ people

Change up your pinned post frequently. There isn’t a set rule for this. See what converts and what doesn’t.

Keep learning as you go, that’s the fun part about pinned posts.

Create Lists:

Most of the content you see on the timeline is garbage.

You’ll waste your time scrolling the timeline. You’ll see content you don’t want to see. You’ll get hooked and scroll for hours.

So, here’s the most efficient way to use 𝕏:

Create an Engagement List (50-100 Creators):

Assuming you have competition in your niche, do the following:

  • Look for competitors in your niche (from 1k followers to 1M)
  • Add these creators to a list (name is “Engage With”)
  • You should have anywhere from 50-100 creators in this list.

My engagement process is quite simple, but very effective.

Please don’t use AI for your comments or replies. When replying to other creators, don’t summarize what they said. Avoid replying with “nice post!” or “love it!”. The goal of posting comments is for other creators to see you, be ‘wowed’, and go to your profile.

Remember when I said go from Point A to Point B? That’s always the goal.

Okay - here’s my process:

  • After your post - reply to every comment on your posts.
  • Go to your “Engage With” list and interact with the most recent posts for 30 minutes.
  • Drop unique comments - make people think - add value to their posts.
  • Like & comment on other comments on these creator’s posts.

Additionally: Turn notifications on for top accounts in the list and be the first one to comment. You’ll be seen my many new people every time you do this. The more you engage - the faster you grow.

Here’s the Truth: You can post all you want - but if people aren’t following you - they won’t see your content. If you engage with other creators, their audience will see you. Work smart.

Here are some recent comments I made that got me new email signups:

When you interact w/ larger creators, more people will see you. That’s just how it works.

Turn on my notifications and reply to my posts in the first 10 minutes. I’ll make sure to engage w/ your comment. You’ll be seen by anyone else who engages with the post.

Steal My List Here: https://twitter.com/i/lists/1630971201865515025?s=20

Create an Education List (25-50 Creators):

This list is quite simple. You should be learning. Every day. The point of this list is to educate you.

Here’s my process:

  • Look for knowledgeable creators in your niche who have (real) social proof.
  • Create a list and name it “Learn From”.
  • Once a day, scroll through the list and take notes, bookmark posts, and takeaway at-least one thing.

Create an Inspiration List (50-100 Creators):

This last list is very important. You’ll be creating content. And a lot of it. So having constant ideas is challenging at times.

Here’s what I do to never run out of ideas:

  • Feel free to use creators for the other two lists you created.
  • Create a new list called “Get Inspired”.
  • When you need ideas, scroll through this list. Write down your new post ideas.

You should also use Twemex (this tool is awesome):

  1. Add Twemex to your Chrome Extensions.
  2. Head to 𝕏 and view the extension on the right-hand side.
  3. If you don’t pay for the platform - you’ll still gain valuable information from the extension.
  4. You can search through the following:
    • /me searches just your tweets
    • /follows searches tweets of people you follow
    • /user searches the currently viewed user
    • /list searches the currently viewed list
    • /from:<user> searches tweets from a user
    • /to:<user> searches replies to a user
    • Pressing Ctrl+Enter after a search pulls up the full search results page
  5. Go to a random creator you look up to. Twemex will pop up with their top content which you can now use as inspiration. I use this for thread ideas, tweet ideas, and even video ideas.
  6. Mess around with the tool and enjoy watching your 𝕏 grow!
image

A sidebar will appear, and you can see the following from creators on 𝕏:

  • Top Tweets (All-Time)
  • Top Tweets (Recent)
  • Trending Topics
  • Best Performing Posts
  • List goes on…

Keep going through this module, I’ll explain how I use other tools for inspiration.

Now, Your Content Workflow:

Software: I use Hypefury for a majority of my 𝕏 systems.

  • Scheduling Content
  • Inspiration
  • Auto-Plugs
  • AI Writing
  • CRM
  • Analytics

Before I dive into each aspect of my 𝕏 Content Workflow, remember this:

Consistency is everything. If you want results, you need to show up. Put in the work. Improve and adapt as you go. Let’s get it:

Hypefury Settings:

Hypefury > Account Settings

From here, let’s make a few changes:

  • Thread Finisher > Enabled
  • Composer > Disabled
  • Long Text Splitting into a Thread > Disabled
image

Content Queue + Schedule:

Posting Times: ~7:05 AM CST & 1:23 AM CST. This is the best posting time due to 𝕏 activity.

Why? Most creators are active at this time. Which means, their audience is, too. I’d highly recommend scheduling your posts at around this time. I’ll get into the engagement steps later on in this module.

I tested posting twice per day and thrice per day. Based on time consumption and growth, I found that posting twice per day was the best choice. This allows you more time to spend time on the business end of your personal brand.

Quality + Quantity = Success.

With Hypefury, you can make your posting times “Less Robotic”.

If you end up using this software, 100% use this feature (see below):

image
image

I’d highly recommend posting 2-3 times every single day.

If you are just starting out, it’s important to be engaging more than you post. Once you have your content scheduled, go through the “Engagement List” system I went over above and engage w/ the list before and after you post.

My formula is 80% engagement - 20% posting. Get more eyes on your profile. Then let your profile do the rest.

Inspiration:

Hypefury > Create

  • Search top content
  • Filter by time, date, and type of content

Remember, don’t copy other creators word for word. It’s quite obvious for others, especially in the long-term. Use ideas, take inspiration, and utilize your own content. Here’s what that looks like:

image

When I’m not using Hypefury, I use my Inspiration list we made earlier in this module.

I build a list of posts that I could use for inspiration in Discord + Notion. Once I have at least 20-30 posts, I take parts in each post that would resonate why my audience and re-create a similar idea in my own style.

Not every post you make has to be made on the spot. Get inspired from other creators and twist up content to match your tone, style, and voice.

Content Schedule:

Posting Time: ~7:05 AM CST & 1:23 AM CST.

Posting Days: Every Day

Posting Ratio: 80% Educational | 20% Promotional

I’ve spent months testing which days are best for specific types of content. Here’s the exact content schedule I use every week on LinkedIn:

  • Sunday - Exclusive Email Content (How To)
  • Monday - Single Image (How To)
  • Tuesday - Customer Testimonial
  • Wednesday - Selfie Post (Long-Form)
  • Thursday - Exclusive Email Content (How To)
  • Friday -  Selfie Post (Long-Form)
  • Saturday - Customer Testimonial

Tuesdays & Saturdays are typically the days I use to promote my course, coaching program, and client services. I’d recommend setting 1-2 days aside for promoting your offers. Sell, without “selling”. I’ll show you how I do this later in this module.

If you don’t have time writing one post per day, focus on 4-7 posts per week. If you don’t have time to make content at all, let’s schedule a call. I’m happy to create your content for you.

I created a 90-Day Content Queue Challenge for you to have endless ideas.

📅Content Queue Challenge

Engagement Builder:

The engagement builder is similar to 𝕏 lists.

Pick a list of “Watched Users”. Now you have a page where you can easily reply, like, repost, and share their content. If you find 𝕏 to be distracting - use this page instead.

image

Full-Screen Mode:

The Hypefury Full-Screen feature allows you to make threads effortlessly. When you are writing your thread, press the “Enter” key three times and you’ll automatically be typing the next subtweet. You can view on the right how your thread looks.

You can also automatically add a “Thread Finisher” (last part of thread that gets you more reposts).

image

Post Tips + Tricks:

Auto-Plugs: This is one of my favorite features on Hypefury. The ability to automatically post replies to your own posts.

Here are my settings:

  • Auto-Plugs > Enabled
  • Only Post After > 90 Likes
  • Only autoplug if I haven't manually replied > Disabled
image

Why use the Auto-Plug feature?

Asking a question, adding additional value, or simply promoting something in your comments gradually gets more of your audience to reply to your comment. Your comment will become the top comment of your post, and overall give you more reach.

More Engagement = More Reach

Here’s an example of how one of my recent auto-plugs has been performing:

image

Here are three templates I use which you can steal for your own replies:

If you like my insights - grab my free 5-day email course. You won't be disappointed: alexcolhoun.com/twitter
I send weekly emails that have helped 27,231+ creators turn their content into cash. Join up and I'll send you my free 5-day email course: alexcolhoun.com/twitter
If you liked this, join The Growth Innovator - I'll send you a free 5-day email course to get started: alexcolhoun.com/twitter
I write about turning your content into cash every Wednesday/Saturday. 27,231+ people read it for guidance to start and scale their personal brand. I'll send you my free 5-day email course: alexcolhoun.com/twitter

Auto-Plugs: When you post, most of your audience won’t see it.

Repost your content. Show it to your followers who miss it. And un-repost at the end of your day to clean up your timeline.

You’re post will get tons more impressions than before.

With Hypefury’s “Tweet Booster”, this is done automatically for me.

I set my delay to 9 hours. Retweet requirement to 10 likes (this way it’s guaranteed, all of my tweets have over 10 likes)

image

After 24 hours, all re-posts are undone. This will keep your timeline nice and clean.

image

If you don’t use Hypefury - then I’d recommend manually reposting and un-reposting your content.

Evergreen Posts: If for some reason you don’t have a post scheduled, that’s okay.

Evergreen Posts will become fillers. Any slots on your content queue that are blank will become a retweet instead. Hypefury will choose one of your Evergreen Posts to re-post randomly.

I don’t use this feature often as I usually have something to post, but you’ll see many creators reposting old content, so I wanted to show you how they’re doing it.

image

Post Design:

There are so many different post formats on 𝕏.

The reason I get a lot of engagement on my posts, the format is easy to read. My writing is friendly for all age groups. My content is relatable.

Turn your CTAs into CTVs (call to value):

  • "Sign up" → "Begin your personal brand journey".
  • "Learn More" → "Discover your unique edge".
  • "Download eBook" → "Unlock personal branding secrets". Don't just instruct your followers on what to do.

Instead - highlight what they'll achieve.

  • CTA = The immediate action
  • CTV = The transformative outcome

Next, ask yourself these questions:

  • Can someone use this right now? → Actionable Content
  • Is your content easy to comprehend? → Clarity
  • Will this content stick with people? → Resonate + Relatability.
  • Does this content sound unique? → Personality

Your posts on 𝕏 should showcase your story. Don’t just post knowledge anyone can find on Google. Share your learnings along the way. Your wins, losses, setbacks, you name it.

If you post average content - you’ll get average results.

image

Notice the format of my writing in the post above?

I’ve testing thousands of posts, and this format is very effective for clarity.

Example (try this):

[ One-Liner ] [ Short One-Liner ] [ Short One-Liner ] [ Short One-Liner ] [ One-Liner ]

Instead of This:

[ One-Liner ] [ Short One-Liner ] [ Short One-Liner ] [ Short One-Liner ] [ One-Liner ]

And Instead of This:

[ One-Liner ] [ One-Liner ] [ One-Liner ] [ One-Liner ]

The flow and overall design of your writing is important. Keep in mind that your content is unique because of your opinions. Don’t be scared to share your honest thoughts.

Especially when you are starting on 𝕏, post your opinions.

Spark conversation in your replies. Make people want to form a discussion. You won’t please everyone, so just do you.

Here are two examples:

“It costs $0.00 to educate and help others.”

This gets people talking. I implied there is a solution to a problem. Without actually saying it.

“Why are schools not teaching entrepreneurship or how to start a business?”

When you get to the Newsletter Framework, I utilized my “Question Pitch” for this post.

This post addressed a massive problem (in my opinion). Some people agreed, some didn’t. Again, this sparked many replies and got people on their feet.

Don’t worry if everyone doesn’t agree with your “quirky ideas” or “crazy opinions”. Just post them anyways.

Once you’ve been posting different content formats, you can see what works and what doesn’t by utilizing my analytics system which you’ll find at the end of this module.

My top performing content is always repurposed 2 or 3 times for maximum engagement.

The 𝕏 Pitch for Sales:

Writing content that is worth reading is simple, but not easy.

Here are three categories that I found to have the lowest form of sales:

  • Complaints: “My ride is late. Again!”
  • Me Now: “I’m about to order some food.”
  • Presence Maintenance: “GM everyone!”

Here are three categories that I found to have the highest form of sales:

  • Questions: The power of interrogative to engage and persuade.
  • Useful Information: Fresh/new material that offers clarity.
  • Self-Promoting: Useful information as part of the promotion

When promoting a new product or service on 𝕏, remember to utilize these winning categories.

Here are two examples of excellent copy I used on my course landing page:

From spending 5 hours a day to 1 hour a week creating better content.

If you want to sell a product or service, don’t showcase the product you are selling, showcase the outcome.

image

Another example I used was the following:

This course won’t teach you how to make $100,000 in 2 weeks.

Again, you need to stand out from the thousands of other products online. This statement is pure honesty.

Be real with your potential customers and showcase exactly what they will expect when purchasing your product/service.

image

Now, Repurposing + Analytics:

I use Web 𝕏 for my analytics. One of the best ways to grow on 𝕏 is to look at your analytics, find what’s working, what’s not working, and leverage that to your advantage.

Here’s what to track:

  • Followers
  • Engagements
  • Comments
  • Impressions
  • Profile Views
  • Likes
  • Reposts (Shares)

The two things I look for:

  • Average Impressions to Likes
  • Comments + Engagement Rates

Here’s the process:

  1. Select the “More” icon on 𝕏.
  2. Select “Premium” in the drop-down
  3. Select “Analytics”
  4. Select the period of time you want to pull data for (I usually do previous month)
  5. Select “Export as CSV”
  6. Important to Google Sheets or Excel
  7. Remove all columns except “Post Link”, “Post Text”, “Likes”, and “Impressions.”
  8. Make sure to remove all of your comments (usually small amounts of likes)
  9. Add a new column.
  10. Create a formula to divide “Impressions” and “Likes”
  11. Auto-fill to the rest of the document
  12. Filter from “Z → A”
  13. Now - your top performing posts will be displayed at the top.
image

Repurpose the content that is performing the best.Add a twist to the posts. Make it longer-form for LinkedIn. Turn it into a TikTok or YouTube shorts script.

Once you have the spreadsheet built, it’s time to actually repurpose your content. There are multiple ways I do this.

After 60 days of posting content, I export my posts into the spreadsheet. Remember, no one remembers your content like you do. Your current audience (and new followers) most likely will not remember your posts from months ago.

  • Copy/paste your old posts and repost them.
  • Copy/paste your old posts, reformat them, and repost them.
  • Copy/paste your old posts, change copy, reformat them, and repost them.

I choose which one of the three to do depending on how much time I have. If I’m in a rush, I’ll do the first option. If I have some time to spare, I’ll do the second option. If I have lots of time on my hands, I’ll do the third option.

image
